Charlotte (Penny) Hood
I was born in Orbost. I moved to Nowa Nowa then Bruthen. I now reside in Bairnsdale with my son.
I paint because it makes me feel good – “it eases your soul”. My influences are primarily my cultural heritage - it’s an easy way to show how you lived – when it felt good. It’s good to remember when life was fun.
My proudest artistic achievement is being known in my community and to family and friends. I studied at the East Gippsland Institute of TAFE and completed the Diploma of Visual Arts in 2005. My work has featured on advertising brochures for “The Torch” project and was selected for a Disability brochure for the Department of Human Services.
