Alfred Hudson (Alfie)
I was born in Bairsdale and have lived in Bairnsdale all my life. I now live in Bairnsdale with my partner Stella.
I paint because it relaxes me and I enjoy it. My father was an artist as are many of my family members.
My work is influenced by thinking of people and what I've done or the way my week has gone. My work is a way of communicating without talking.
I completed the Diploma of Visual Art with the Koori Unit at the East Gippsland Institute of TAFE in 2005. I consider the appreciation and encouraging comments I receive from others about my work an achievement. I give a lot of my work away to friends and family. It makes me feel good to see people appreciate my gift.
My work 'Family' is about families sticking together, looking after each other and helping each other out. Within a family, you realise who you are.
